When I was 17 my girlfriend took me to see "Gone With The Wind". I wasn't very impressed, and when they had the intermission at 2 hours I thought the movie was over and was ready to go make out at Chisholm Park.
"Oh no" she said "its only halfway through!"
"You're kidding"
"No, we have to watch the second half!"
"I don't think so"
"If you go, what shall I do?"
"Frankly dear, I dont give a damn"
And that was the end of us.
Gone With The Wind.

“One of my favorite quotes from Moby Dick says:
“It is not down on  any map. True places never are.”
There are people like that as well. Like places, they may be the truest people.
They are everywhere, all over the place all the time, in constant motion.
They are unmappable.
You might as well try to put a border on the atmosphere.
You might as well try to map solid air.”

Excerpt from my Eulogy for Cynthia yesterday.

They let me talk for quite some time, probably 15 minutes.
